Citizens Jazz
Citizens Jazz is an innovative jazz collective led by Caroline Chung who is an Oakland based professional upright & electric bassist, songwriter & producer.
Citizens Jazz has released their full length album of original music titled Sounds Of Haejin in 2021, a Tribute to the Great Nina Simone EP, a Jazz EP titled Earth Angels and several singles & music videos from the album.
Citizens Jazz also performed headlining at SF Jazz, the San Jose Jazz Festival, San Jose Museum and the Asian Art Museum.
Zornitsa Marinova and Nicco Tyson
Zornitsa Marinova and Nicco Tyson play music that is filled with joy, life and love.
Zori has studied Classical music in her youth but found her life's inspiration in Afro-Cuban and Brazilian drumming as an adult. She brings decades of study and performance experience to the stage.
Nicco began his musical journey inspired by punk rock as a teenager, but soon fell in love with the Blues. He started cutting his teeth and blues jams on the Oregon coast where he grew up. This thread of inspiration led him to West African music, where he spent a year studying with master traditional musicians in Mali. He has also studied Classical guitar and Afro-Brazilian traditions in Rio de Janeiro. Although he now teaches guitar and harmonica, he considers himself always a student of music and still studies with master West African musicians here in the Bay Area, such as Karamo Susso.
Nicco also teaches Guitar, Harmonica and Ukulele in the Bay Area.
Aaron Hammerman
Aaron Hammerman specializes in floor-stomping barrelhouse, old-time blues and roots piano. Known primarily for his work with the bay area-based Deep Basement Shakers, Aaron channels the spirit of exciting but oft-overlooked early 20th century regional blues styles. Expect boogies, stomps, rags, rumbas, breakdowns, shakedowns and more.

Ben Stolorow is one of the most in demand jazz pianists in the area and has performed at Yoshi’s, The Jazzschool, and the Kuumbwa Jazz Center, at the Healdsburg and SF Jazz Festivals, at Oakland’s Art and Soul Festival, and has also toured and performed throughout Japan.With the variety of touch and range of expression that one can hear in his music, he displays the wide scope of his influences, from Bach and Bill Evans to Thelonious Monk and McCoy Tyner.
Ollie is an omnipresent force on the Bay Area Music scene. He is a San Francisco Native that brings his unique experience of growing up in the Bay Area to reflect in the music that he plays. His interesting bass lines and rhythmic pulse drives the music forward towards new and exciting heights while telling a story that takes the listener's ear on a special journey. With a wide range of influences from Swing to Bebop to Cuban/Brazilian music Ollie combines elements of these styles into a musical gumbo of exploration and improvisation.
Ben Slater Trio
Ben composes original music, arranges jazz standards, and performs on both piano and tenor saxophone. Ben Slater grew up in San Francisco and returned to the city after some time on the East Coast and New Orleans. He has been the musical director of Mean to Me Jazz Band since 2013 and has recently co-founded a new jazz/funk/groove band called Mojo Circus. Ben performs regularly at venues in San Francisco and the East Bay like Bird & Beckett Books & Records, Jupiter, Madrone Art Bar, Blush Wine Bar, Red Poppy Art House, Mr. Tipple's Recording Studio, and Curio. Byrds of a Feather are the Epitome of JazzReggae in the Bay Area! David Byrd arrived in the Bay Area in 2012 after blazing a trail of glory in Chicago. Byrds of a Feather was formed through the musical intersection of jazz and reggae, and played venues across the country such as Mississippi nights in St. Louis, Tobacco Road in Miami, Tipatina's in New Orleans, Club Lingerie in LA and the Wild Hare in Chicago to name a few. Highly original and entertaining!
Javi Jiménez & Ross Howe
Javi Jiménez, a spanish guitarist based in San Francisco Bay Area presents a night of gypsy jazz along with Ross Howe celebrating the music of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli and the Hot Club of Paris. Javi and Ross have been playing gypsy jazz together for over a decade. Their style is very open and often incorporates latin or flamenco style influences while always maintaining the jazz concept of improvisation.

Swingatto is a swing and gypsy jazz band currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was originally founded in February 2014 in London, UK. The project currently features Joe Yamamoto on violin, Antonio Feula on guitar, and Paul Collins on upright bass. The band's repertoire included original gypsy jazz songs as well as Django Reinhardt covers and many other great tunes from the 1920s and 1930s.
